The Olivine Pools were named for a semi-precious gem found encrusted in the surrounding lava and sandstone. These naturally-formed swimming pools are located on a lava shelf stretching along the coastline. A rock barrier separates the ocean from the pool. One thing you'll notice about the nature-made pool is how many colorful fish and sea creatures have been swept into the pool by the ocean
It is located off of Highway 340, just a few miles north of Kaanapali. When you see the dip sign, park to the left and hike down a steep cliff for a few miles.
